Adam moved to Phoenix to begin life anew. He took up the job of cable installer and it was during these days he met Raquel who was a 30-year-old marketing manager with a daughter. Interestingly, they became friends online and when they were sure that they should advance their relationship, they decided to meet each other in person.
The Connection
The two felt an inexplicable connection with each other and bonded in no time. Adam said, “I couldn’t keep my eyes off her – she had these beautiful dimples and she had this really sweet smile.” As far as Raquel was concerned she had never felt so sure about someone: “He wasn’t trying but somehow he looked so cool, he was so handsome.” Only after a few months of casual dating, they got into a live-in relationship and finally tied the knot in 2015.
Things Of Past
But now all those beautiful moments had faded away. And the person who was most affected by this unfortunate incident was Raquel. She was dying to get her old husband back who used to love her and who loved to stick around her. Raquel did everything she could to help him in getting his memory back. She showed him photographs of theirs and many posts on Facebook that they had written together.
Helpless
Raquel had never felt so helpless before. The person she loved the most was near her but not with her. She showed him their marriage certificate that Adam had demanded. Well, the certificate made both of them laugh as the woman was yet to change her last name. Adam was still not satisfied. He still had difficulty in accepting Raquel as his wife. At one point Adam even said, “I am not attracted to you, and you do not turn me on at all.” His words broke Raquel’s heart to pieces.
Unexpected
Raquel had never imagined that Adam would say anything like this to him. She wrote, “It’s hard to love someone when they have no idea who you are and they cannot love you.” But at the same time, it was her immense love for Adam only that fuelled her with strength and determination to get his love of life back. She was not going to give up so easily.
A New Journey
She wanted to win him over and so decided to learn cooking. In past, it was Adam who used to cook for the family. But now as the man was unwell she took up all the responsibilities. Gradually, Adam began to get attracted to her. It appeared that the cloud of grim and agony was moving away, perhaps that is why the old personality of Adam was making its come back in him. She recalled “He once said, If you’re my wife, I think we can kiss. This is still the husband I married – he is always trying to get a free kiss. Adam’s always been a flirt and continues to be a flirt.”
