The first thing among them was the setting up of a tent in order to stave off the sun. The tent covered the entire area of the structure and also the places surrounding it. Now the tent and the hole was attracting the attention of every passerby who got their eyes on them.
Rollin Up Their Sleeves
The other task that they had to do was spreading out the concrete around the hole. No doubt, pouring concrete is quite a feat for beginners like Sims and his friends. Though it took a long time to get it done they were extremely happy as it was the last task they had to do. After that, they were going to start on an astounding journey.
Digging Deep
After placing the concrete the team topped it with a rebar. One might find it unnecessary but the step was equally as important as spreading the concrete. The rebar was going to provide support to the structure. Now all they had to do is to wait till the thick concrete dries up. It was time to take a mission to the next level.
Taking Shape
The whole structure looked entirely different after the drying up of cement from how it was found. Now the structure was far stronger than earlier. They could go down easily without having any doubts regarding their security. After working day and night it was the time for the group to take some rest.
Finally…..
It took a whole day for the structure to solidify. The team could not help but peep inside the hole when it got in its last form. It was unbelievable! On perceiving the renovated structure, none of them would have believed the initial condition of the tunnel.
What A Discovery!
Do you see the black pipe neighboring the hole? Well, it was placed next to the hole with a purpose. The pipe was going to be the only source of oxygen for the team. No need to say the tunnel was deprived of air and so they needed a ventilator for that.
