When he dug a bit more he learned that the object that hit the shovel hard was nothing but a metal lid. The lid was not a tiny one but a huge sized one. With the surfacing of the lid, many questions engulfed Sims. First of all what was the purpose of the lid? Was it covering something? If yes, then what was that? Was it just the beginning of a mysterious journey for Sims? Well, yes, the lid was hiding a big secret since ages.
What Lies Beneath
No need to say, the metallic lid was extremely heavy. So, it wasn’t easy for a single man like Sims to remove that. However, he did not want to reveal about his new discovery to anyone so he decided to give it a try on his own. Initially, lifting up the lid seemed impossible but the persistent efforts of the man did bear fruits and the lid opened up finally. Once the lid got opened it only perplexed him even further.
Lifting The Lid
Sims’ eyes got fixated on the hole before him. He had never seen anything as eerie as this. The hole was full of objects that had blocked it completely. It appeared as if that was done on purpose. Perhaps whoever was behind it did not want anyone to go through this hole if it ever gets found. Sims did not waste a moment and captured the complex view in his camera. And this is the very picture he took. It seemed someone had assorted blades at the entrance. The view had whetted his already intense curiosity.
I’m Going In
The objects resting in the hole for years were blanketed with dirt. Due to the dust, it was getting difficult for Sims to figure out what exactly was that. First, he needed to clean it before going further. He took the lid off completely so that he could get into the hole. Well, descending in a hole that had been kept secret for years was nothing short of a risk. However, he had made up his mind. It was to see where his curiosity was going to take him. Meanwhile, the man began removing the dirt with his hand.
Pandora’s Box
It took him hardly an hour to do away with all the dirt. And when he got done with that he realized that the object was altogether a different thing then what he had thought. It was not a blade. As the picture clearly shows, it was a staircase. Sims who was already consumed with amazement stepped down the stairs not knowing what was lying ahead for him. Not to mention the stairs were indeed leading to a surprising revelation and Sims was a few steps away from that.
Risk Taken
The steps of the stairs were rusted and resultantly had weakened to a great extent. Chances of their collapsing were high. Sims’ decision to step on them was surely going to be the biggest risk he could ever take. However, the desire to know the secret lying beneath the surface was too strong and he finally decided to give it a shot.
