Angry And Distraught
As previously told the video was highly popular, but, it received mixed emotions from viewers. Though there were some who congratulated and admired the work of the artist, there were some who did not have good words to say about the whole thing. A viewer after watching the video became upset and commented,“Your video and art made me first sick to my stomach and then made me so angry. How can you call yourself an artist? Is murder an art?” Well, I hope this comment is capable enough for you to get an idea what the whole controversy was about. If you think this is the end of the criticism and hate comments the video received then you are wrong…
Still Not Finished
Another viewer had something to say on similar lines as the previous ones. He said, “You think so, obviously. Guess you never grew out of your childish need to kill animals, insects and who knows what else, in order to feel powerful. These are innocent creatures with amazing colonies which took them who knows how long to build.” The number of people coming in support of comments like this was gradually rising which cannot be deemed wrong as they had a valid point to make and genuine sentiments to go with it. The artist until this time had started to feel the heat and it was high time that he came up with a befitting reply to the act he did in the video. This is exactly what he did. Read on to find out, what he said in his defense?
An Impassioned Response
The whole controversy centered around with someone trying to kill an innocent creature which displayed the cruel and inhumane nature of the man. Though, the art was spectacular, unique and was helping in educational purpose it still did not justify someone killing another creature for the sake of it. What would have been your response to seeing the video? Would you simply praise the creator or criticize him? Should the artist be aware of the lives he is taking away in order to just present something beautiful in front of the viewers and continue with increasing the view count on the video he posted?
Defending His Art
As told before, the number of people along with their negative comments and criticism exponentially rose after the first voice against it was raised. Witnessing this fact the artist decided to come up in his defense and speak on the issue. According to him, the ant hill he chose in the video belonged to a dying breed of fire ant which can harm humans in the worst of ways. He added by saying that the authorities were also trying to wipe out these ants who are capable of incurring painful bites to humans. So, the thing he did only help in the cause and the death of the ants was something sure to happen.
Fire Ants
The artist precisely searches for the ant hill of a red imported fire ant. They are considered of no use and regarded as a pest are have not originated in North America. It is believed that fire ants first made their way in the United States in the 1930s from South America. These creature love to be in warm places with their population rising in the USA drastically. As they can be seen throughout the southern U.S. Each colony they live in can have around 100,000 to 500,000 ants and contain alkaloid venom in their sting which can prove nasty for humans.
Taking Responsibility
“I try to find abandoned nests but it doesn’t always work out. Either way, I do it sparingly and the property is still overrun with them,” the artist claimed online. Are you satisfied with the response of the artist? No one can deny the fact that if the things that the artist has stated are true then he is not that wrong as portrayed by the people who posted negative comments on the video. But, still there are two sides to a coin and no one can come with a sure judgment towards this twisted case.
