His wife did not want heaps of dirt in their living room. She knew that the cleaning work would take a hell of a time. Moreover, Mr. Collin already had a busy schedule because of his work and fitting in the digging work would make his other work suffer.
Could Not Agree
The man tried to persuade her but she did not listen to him. Despite his countless efforts, his wife did not relent and that is why the man decided to put off his plan of digging the hole to some other day. So, when was he going to embark upon this mission? He still wasn’t willing to let go of this. He decided to go on with his plan after his retirement. The man was going to put down his paper after a couple of years.
Temptation
From that day on every day, the hole beneath the sofa would tempt him. Every time he would sit on his sofa to watch the TV or chit chat with his family members, he felt an irresistible attraction to it. But he could not do anything about it as the man was bound by a promise.
What was There?
He often wondered what could be tucked inside the hole. It could be a treasure or some ancient relic that would make them famous overnight. There were many possibilities but the truth was far from that. The question was still lingering on their mind…….What could it be?
Finally…….
Years went by and the day came when he took retirement from the work. Now the man had nothing to do so he decided to finish his incomplete work. He bought the tools from the nearby tool store to proceed with his work. Little did he know that the work he had undertaken has had amazing consequences.
Resuming The Work
The man started digging the hole. This uphill task was going to take a lot of time. It needed to be done carefully as the hole was in the center of the living room. He had to dig the hole without causing any disturbance to the rest of the area. He dug a little further but it was of no avail. Nothing of significance came to the surface.
