AnirudhaLooking Around The Sale
As we have already told you about Scapecchi’s habit and the love for his job. He was the first to reach the sale. He was familiar with the neighborhood and finding the place wasn’t hard for him. He met Sue and introduced himself to her. She showed him around where all the stuff was put on sale. It did not take long for Scapecchi to finish seeing the sale and when he was about to leave, his eyes stopped for a moment to have a better look at the thing he was looking at. He was surprised to find this thing in a place like this.
Hidden In Plain Sight
Scapecchi kept staring at it. He was surprised by his luck. The thing was there but no one was able to see it except him. As it was meant for him. People kept coming and nobody even took a notice of the thing. Was it invisible to others? It may be because Sue kept it under the table because even she didn’t have an idea what that thing really is. Top of the table she kept some of her family belongings and there it was, a perfect treasure, hidden ( not actually, people were able to see it) under the table. Scapecchi picked it up and could hear his heart beating.
Honest Man
He was looking for the owner to inquire about this thing. There she was. He ran towards her minding the people in front of him. He did not want to ruin it. He went up to Sue and asked, “do you know what it is?” Of course, she knew, she had it in her house for past 30 years. But he asked again, “do you actually know what this thing is?” Now she was confused until he told her.
Ssh! It’s A Secret
Scapecchi asked her if they can go and talk somewhere in private. Sue wasn’t sure about it as she didn’t know the man standing in front of her. He could be a thief ( he wasn’t). But even she was curious now. She wanted to know what it was that stayed with her for years and still, she is getting to know about it now and that too from a stranger. She took him into the house and was completely shocked by the news.
Another Look Around
After listening to what Scapecchi told her, she was so impressed by him that she asked him to take another round at the sale so that he could find something similar to what she was holding in her hand. Bruce couldn’t say no to her, and started looking at the stuff. Sadly, he couldn’t find anything worth similar to the previous find. Sue did not get disheartened by this but was happy that her yard sale was a success. But the real question is, how did Bruce know that whatever he was telling or thinking about the thing is even true? It could all turn into a perfect nightmare for both of them. But somehow Bruce was convinced.
Recreating The Sale
Even after holding the treasure in his hands he couldn’t believe his fate. He was not ready to believe that this thing was right there in front of everybody and still no one was able to recognize it. Now, he decided to put the thing back to its original place as he wanted to confirm something. Scapecchi thought of the possibility that someone in the crowd saw the treasure but decided to take his time. So after putting it back, he waited for the yard sale to finish and see if anyone actually recognized the treasure before him. But fate was decided and it was Scapecchi who made the amazing discovery.
