A Future China
Wilkinson is positive that in 50-80 years, China would be a lot different from its condition in 1995. He predicts that the Asian country whose population has gone up to 1.379 billion would become more confident and brazen in future owing to its growing influence in the world. The man also did not shy away from stating that in future Austrailia might have to suffer because of these developments.
Solution Available
So, does he have any solution? Well yes, the man has provided a solution as well. Wilkinson believes understanding and compassion would secure Austrailia a safer place in the future. He suggests that the country should give acceptance to Chinese language and open up the door for immigrants. According to Wilkinson, there are two options that a nation can choose when another country is looming over. Opting for war is a mistake which leaves diplomacy.
Social Awareness In The Future
Further, in the letter, Wilkinson confesses that the unleaded energy they used could not be called a sustainable means of energy. He expects that the nations in future would understand the importance of environment and would be environmentally conscious. He goes on to address some more social and environmental problems in the letter.
Disease That Kills
Wilkinson did not forget to mention terminal disease, AIDS in his letter that had been gripping popularity. He explains how in his time this disease affected many lives. Whereas some were from the first world, many of the victims belonged to the developing nation. Wilkinson predicted that the disease would only get bigger and many more people from the third world would get under its dark shadow. He even asked a question in his letter, “Has [AIDS] done so yet?”
Environment And AIDS Crisis
The man discussed the prices of famous items in those time. For example, in $1.25 one can buy a pint of milk at that time. You can have a nice case of beer (24 pack) in $24.95. And if you are willing to read a newspaper. Well, all you need is $1.20 in your pocket.
Today Is Expensive
Wilkinson asked the reader to compare the prices of these items of that time with today. If you compare you will notice that these items today are more expensive then the earlier times. He made many more predictions.
