Connie was very happy to see Ben. She right away hugs him. However, the old woman landed in a mess. She had suffered some major injuries. What looked like a fracture was more than a fracture. She had broken both her tibia and fibula and unfortunately, she was on a wheelchair now.
Helping Hand
After the emotional reunion, the local media sets the table for the interview. The duo recollected how things went about that day and how Ben’s wrong route helped in saving Connie’s life. In the entire session, Connie held Ben’s hand tight.
Kindness
Connie had no words to thank Ben for his act of kindness. Her holding hands with him was a simple gesture to thank him for his act, love, and generosity. The humanity that he showed was what many don’t show.
Overwhelmed
Connie was glad that the postman kept aside his work and went off duty just to help her out. She was touched by his gesture. Had he not taken the wrong turn and arrived on time, things would have been miserable for her. She was overwhelmed and called him a “hero”.
Not A Hero
Ben right way rejected Connie’s call of terming him as a “Hero”. Ben said to her that if any person had been on his side, he or she would have done the same thing out of humanity. As any good being would have done so he too did it. He further says, “I was just there at the right time, right place,”
A Golden History
However, after knowing what profession had Ben been into before, one will definitely call him as a hero. Before joining the postal services, Ben had served the nation as a military member. And his contribution is remarkable.
