An Enthusiastic Couple

When photographer couple Evan Schiller and wife Lisa Holzwarth landed in the landlocked country of Botswana in South Africa, they never expected anything out of the ordinary for their scheduled game drive. The couple often went on African expeditions, and this trip too was supposed to be like their previous ones.

The LEO Chronicles

Passionate about saving the Big Cats, the couple together founded ‘The LEO Chronicles,’ an organization aimed towards raising awareness towards the endangered feline predators. So they often went to Africa to photograph the majestic cats and subsequently shine a light on their plight. However, this trip was going to be unlike any other trips they’ve ever taken!

Their African Expedition

The couple was on a 16-day photographic safari trip in Botswana, and everything was as per usual. They were guided by their local guide, Isaac Seredile, on the 320,000 acres of the rustic Selinda Reserve in northern Botswana. They had been quietly observing some hyenas and a leopard when something startling happened!

A Commotion!

The quiet scene was disrupted by a troop of screaming baboons! There was a lot of commotion created by the troop, and it was hard to place the reason for it. But they soon realized that the seemed to be fleeing from something. But this was only the beginning of the extraordinary series of events that was about to unfold…
