What’s The Real Purpose?

The curiosity had taken over her completely! She was ready to give whatever it takes to find out the real purpose of the room. Unfortunately, there was no one who could help her with it. Even her father had no idea about the room. He himself was all shock when she told him about it.

History

Ultimately, she decided to involve historians in her mission. She did the right thing! The historians exposed a lesser heard fact to her that obviously had a big connection with the small room she recently had discovered. They told her that ages back her town harbored a faction of people called abolitionists. 

Agenda

The group’s main agenda was to abolish slavery in the United States and that is why they were named “abolitionist.” In order to execute their plan aptly, they created an Underground Railroad. The railroad was vital in their operations as it helps them take slaves to a safer place. 

Era

She said, “The region in general historically has been known as an abolitionist sympathiser area that probably did have a good number of people who have been involved in or were sympathetic to anti-slavery activism, including potential participation in the underground railroad.”

“The only way to really follow up on that would be to research who the owners were in the past and follow up on property records and see if there were people who were known to be vocal abolitionists, based on the actual documentation of that,” Alexandra added.

Escaping Route

The tunnels worked as an escaping route for the slaves. The “abolitionist” would free the slaves and with the help of tunnel would make them escape through Lansdowne. The historians too got excited about the discovery made by her. So they decided to inspect it further. What they found next was literally unbelievable.    

Bewildered

The historians entered the room in utter bewilderment. Even though they had considered it an output of abolitionist operations, they got themselves confused after inspecting it. Their preconceived notion got all axed when they took a closer look into the room. It was used for something else but what? Alexandra perhaps knew what was it made for.
