Passion

Ewa Wisnierska’s passion for paragliding began from the very time she found out about this sport. Since then she had her days spent in the car moving different places to partake in competitions. It took her four years and numerous competitions to become top woman paraglider all over the world. Ewa had conquered the paragliding world cup many times and according to her, there was more to go. This was not the first time she had found herself in pinch. In 2006, Ewa got confronted with other life taking incident.

An Accident

She was practicing in the Swiss Alps when she got into an accident that inflicted severe injuries in her pelvis. It seemed she would not be able to participate in the next Paragliding World Championships held in Austrailia. But she was yet to give up and decided to participate no matter what comes. Now as she was in Austrailia, frozen in ice, bereft of oxygen, floating high, it was to see whether she manages to win over this battle that she was having with death.

Gaining Back Consciousness

As a born fighter, Ewa finally succeeded in keeping a hold on herself. She stretched her vulnerable hands and held on the brakes attached to her glider. Her whole body had gone numb from the cold, despite that she controlled the brake enough to steady its course. Nevertheless, she was falling down with her head spinning constantly. It was then her eyes perceived an unprecedented sight.

Ray Of Hope

Her vulnerable body got filled with joy when she saw a stretch of land beneath her. She was moving fastly towards the land and it was then her old spirit relived. She had to control the speed in which she was going down. She had her glider crash-landed in a vast field that was 1500 feet away from a farmhouse.

Dormant Like Dead

She was lying down in the sprawling grass of Austrailian savanna in a fetal position. She was shaking constantly with cold. She hugged herself tightly in order to get rid of the chilling wind. Though she had landed herself safely, she still was far from okay. She needed to move, however, it seemed an impossible task for her. If she remains still for more than a while, she would definitely die.

Endless
