A Shocking Surprise

After there was light in the room which somewhat looked like a living room, in the middle of the room there was a homemade hot tub. And inside that tub, there was an alligator ( like what?). Are you able to connect the dots now? But what surprised the people most more than an alligator in a tub inside the house was the fact that they were roaming near the tub for some time and still, it didn’t move an inch and stayed in the tub without making any noise. Like how is that even possible?

Alligator In The House

So the owner and the police officials found an alligator who was in the homemade hot tub. It was very large even for the animal shelter people. He was just there floating in the water without disturbing a soul around him. The alligator was 7 foot long and weighed 200 pounds. That’s not it, the alligator has been living with Casey for over four years. Katfish was not the only one inside the house. More were there.

House Of Reptiles

Inside the house, there were three other reptiles living with Casey. There was a beautiful, younger cousin of the constrictor, the ball python, almost 6.5 feet mark. While its other siblings reach a height of more than 30 feet, he was comparably small. Pythons aren’t aggressive like Katfish (the alligator). The other three family members were in hiding while the humans stood there in shock.

Don’t Forget The Others

As we said there were three other reptiles in the house, a python, a kitten, and a rabbit ( later they all were shifted to different wildlife sanctuaries). Even Katfish was temporarily moved to the Monkey Island Rescue and Sanctuary in Greenwood. Only the kitten stayed with Casey, but after his eviction from the house, he was homeless with all of his possession out on the front lawn.

Moving The Animals

Later when the police called the animal control they knew that it would be difficult to shift Katfish, so they called for help. “This thing was massive in size, and it took over four of us to handle this,” stated James Donovan with KC Animal Control. Fortunately, there were no casualties but Katfish wasn’t happy about leaving his home sweet home.

His Beloved Pet

“I don’t know what the procedure will be to get him back, but I’m going to fight to get him back,” Sean said to the cameras. “He had his own way of saying, ‘Hi,’ to people. They’re not big ferocious animals like people think. They have personalities,” expressed Casey. According to the law, you aren’t allowed to keep an exotic animal in Kansas City, Casey would still fight for bringing his loving Katfish home at any cost.
