Brave Deputy Lucas
Lucas showed the world that he was a deputy in every way and created an amazing example of a loyal companion. Todd said that “He would put his life on the line for me. He is a deputy. I would die for him too.” This shows how deeply they both are connected. Despite having aggressive temperament he showed the world that animals can show humanity even when humans might forget that. But that wasn’t it, Todd made a big decision, what might be the big decision?
Retirement
Finally, when Todd recovered from his injuries he took the biggest decision of his life. His injuries had healed with time but the wound that the incident had created inside his mind was still afresh. So he along with Lucas took retirement from the force. Everyone was crying watching the team go but this incident surely taught the whole department a lesson for the rest of their lives. What was that lesson?
Lesson
The department was more alert after this incident and did certain changes to avoid such incidents from happening again. Before leaving, the cop installed the same remote devices on all of the patrol units and built a superior kennel to house all the K9 units in better conditions. Lucas and Todd still visit the police station often and are happily living together living the life to the fullest.
