Doug made his own path and walked on it all by himself, very courageously. The ways and possibilities that Doug has discovered have stunned medical professionals as well as every other person who has heard of his story.
Support-System
The conditions and sufferings would not have been bearable for Doug if he did not have his friends with him. He has been really lucky to have friends like family who were there to help him whenever he needed anyone for anything, from giving him a ride for miles to entering with him as fake guests in medical conferences.
High-Spirits
After Doug had started recovering, he felt so positive and energetic that in 2014 he was even able to fly and went on a trip with his friends to the Bahamas. He had started living a normal life away from his bed and the four walls of his room.
Never Give Up
We should all learn from Doug Lindsay to never give up. Difficult days will come, but they are sure to end and make way for better days. If Doug had given up, he would have ended up living a life like his Mother and his Aunt, but he chose to pave a different path for himself.
Tables Turn
Doug could have easily been one of the thirty-two cases that had suffered from the same disease as him and were unable to help themselves because the medical world had not yet found the treatment to their problems. But he instead decided to stand out and be his own helper.
Fate Maker
Lindsay’s fate had written a huge turbulence in his life’s journey but he decided to alter it altogether. He made up his mind to write his own fate and did not let anything or anybody alter it. Various conditions and barriers tried to stop him but he kept on going without looking back.
