Nadia is a woman with a golden heart. Her charity funds like “Nadia Comăneci Children’s Clinic” in Bucahrest and being the founding member of Laureus Academy, that aims to use sports to bring social change is enough to support the earlier statement.
Giving Back
Nadia is not alone when it comes to working for the betterment of the section of the society, she is whole-heatedly partnered by her husband Bart Conner. They both have been working as a volunteer for Muscular Dystrophy Association, which help patients suffering from neuromuscular diseases.
Nadia Comăneci And Caitlyn Jenner
Interestingly, Caitlyn Jenner and Nadia met each other for the first time in 2016. Even though they both gained fame after their wonderful performance in Montreal Olympics. Caitlyn told the reason by saying, “Gymnastics finished before Track and Field started, so I was already gone by the time she competed.”
Nadia Comăneci and Donald Trump
Nadia appeared on the show The Apprentice which was hosted by Donald Trump at that time. She said, “I had great fun. I only did it because it was all for charity.” It was for raising money for the Special Olympics that she featured on the show’s celebrity edition.
The Olympic Torch
She was given the honor of carrying the Olympic Torch with ex-basketball star John Amaechi. As you can see in the image, they both posed for pictures at the O2 Arena’s roof.
The Girl Next Door
There is even a building dedicated to this legendary gymnast in her hometown. The small “Memorial Nadia Comaneci Montreal” is very close from the place where Nadia first wrote history by her exceptional performance.
