Living on streets brings with it several physical problems. Inadequate diet and continuous exposure to the sun took a toll on Jose’s eyes. He had cataract when he went for the first makeover- 25 years on streets had almost made him blind. But the makeover was the first step towards bettering life.
Multiple Surgeries
The makeover and the fame the video garnered also brought other offers to Jose. Brands offered to pay for his upkeep and well being until he was capable of doing that himself. He went through several surgeries to get his eyes fixed and unsurprisingly he is happy with his new life.
Obviously, He Went Viral
The salon posted the video online and given how emotional and amazing it was- it instantly gathered attention, it crossed 2 million views in a matter of weeks and shared 28,395 on Facebook alone. And the comments are a delight to read.
People’s Comments
Jose’s appearance took everyone by surprise. One of the locals, Paola Bocardo commented, “I’m lost for words. Jose helps me to park my car every day. When we saw him after his makeover we didn’t recognize him. He’s a wonderful person and the video is amazing.”
Spanish Hugh Jackman
It’s been sometime now and Jose has changed his looks. Some brands offered to support him until he found a proper job. Jose is lovingly known now as the “Spanish Hugh Jackman” well, he CAN pass as Wolverine but this is what was on his mind, “What I want now is a proper job.”
