“I am totally different. It’s not me.” Jose kept repeating these words. To him it was like a miracle, he went from looking homeless to an attractive looking neat man within two hours, WITHOUT any cost. When asked if this new look was better he said, “ya, but it’s incredible.” Now that he was made over, it was time to put him on the streets again, among the people he crossed daily and see their reactions.
Before- After
But first, to emphasize the extent of his physical alteration here is a before and after makeover pictures of Jose. It can be seen that there is nothing similar about the two pictures except for the humble smile and innocent eyes. Since appearance matters so much to people, they could not see past through it when they were put to test. Some simply could not recognize Jose.
The Test
The waiter at this restaurant had been Jose’s acquaintance for years now, so Jose planned to put him on a test. He went and sat like a regular customer and said to the waiter, “Can you get me a beer?” When the man went to get the beer, Jose smiled at the camera, thrilled that his friend wasn’t able to recognize him.
Failed
The waiter friend obviously failed the test, which was a win for Jose. He said to him, “Don’t you recognize me?” His friend replied, “You look so different,” to which Jose said, “but it’s! I had a makeover.” But there were some people who did recognize him and their response? Well, you got to see it for yourself in the video ahead to be able to grasp the full meaning of it.
Thumbs Up
His new stylish and young look got approval from the waitresses he knew from the cafes and restaurants in Palma. They catcalled him, hollered and cheered. They made their approval quite apparent with one of them winking and giving him two thumbs up. Others were taken aback with surprise after laying eyes on him.
Women Bowled Over
Used to looking or not carefully looking at a 55-year-old filthily bearded man, the women could not recognize this new hunk flaunting off his uncompromising smile and when they did, they could not contain their amazement. One of them commented, “Wow you look great,” and Jose could only blush and reply, “thank you so much”.
