Where Is Mommy?
The rangers were successful in freeing the baby elephant but now they had a bigger task at hand. They needed to reunite the baby elephant with its family because elephants are not used to living in isolation and the baby elephant was freaking out. How could its herd abandon it? And it was obviously not too trustworthy of the humans either even though they had just rescued it. rangers meanwhile were trying to restrain the baby elephant and wondering how to reunite it with its family.
Not Happy
The rangers could not leave the baby in the wild. They decided to take it along and keep it safe until its family found it or the baby managed to find its family again. The rangers knew that it was not in the nature of elephants to abandon their little ones so they were sure that the baby would be united with its family, it was just a matter of time. However, the baby was not happy in human company. And it made sure to show its anger.
Tethered Anger
The ranger tied the baby elephant to a tree because it was freaking out and physically capable of taking all of them down. They wanted to be safe and keep the elephant in restrain too so that it doesn’t harm itself. However, the baby was not particularly happy about being bound by a rope. He kept trying to break its rope by running until the end of the leash. The rangers were thinking of ways to pacify this potentially destructive animal.
Hurting Its Own Self
If it was a slightly bigger elephant it would definitely have rooted out the tree it was tethered to. The elephant was probably more freaked out than angry at being separated from its herd and being left to the care of humans. It was continuously trying to break free from the rope it was tied with and circling around the area it could possibly cover in confinement. However, all the baby elephant was doing was hurting its own neck. The rangers had to find a way to calm the baby elephant down and they finally found something to quieten it.
Over Reaction
The animals of the wild are not used to being chained or tied with the rope. So it is not really surprising that the baby elephant crazed on the humans for tying it up. The rangers tried coaxing it with their voice and actions to calm down but there was obviously a disparity in their mode of communication. The baby was trying to resist but after a while, it probably started gauging that humans were only trying to help it and so it started to calm down.
Feeling Comfortable
The baby elephant was only used to having its own kind around; encountering humans would in itself have made it feel scared and out of place but now, being tied among them was worse. But then the rangers did something that calmed the baby elephant down instantly. It actually made it trust them finally and the rangers could sigh and think of a plan to reunite the baby to the family.
