Tourist Spot

Turns out that the tourists who had been recording the entire rescue operation noticed that the elephant herd was still near the mud pool. They alerted the rangers regarding it so that they could guide the baby elephant to its family. The part where the baby was taken away by the rangers for safekeeping is not on the attached video as it only records what the tourists saw.

Unleashed

When the rangers became sure that herd was actually looking for their young one, they unleashed the baby elephant and guided it to the location where the herd was noticed. And it was indeed true. The giant herd was calling out to the baby and as soon as the baby was in their vicinity it started calling back!

Hi, Y’all!

The video on the next slide shows how excited each and every elephant is when the saw their little one running towards them. The baby too felt safe now that it was among its own kind. It sure must have learned its lesson of not going too deep into the mud, because it is difficult to get out of there, even for humans. The tourist crowd let out a huge ‘aww’ when the saw this reunion and everyone went back with a happy memory.

The Video

Here is the video of the entire rescue operation as tried by elephants and humans minus the part where the baby was kept in human care. It directly shows the union of the baby with the herd and how relieved they all are at finally finding each other back.

Real Heroes

In a world where humans hunt animals specifically for their skin and hide, the rangers stand proof of the undying humanity. They put their lives in danger just so the animals are safe and secure. They are the real unacknowledged heroes, working ground level to make a difference and its time we start appreciating what they do for the wildlife.
