Sergey Bubka
Sergey Bubka is a famous gold medalist who has the record of breaking men’s pole vault record for 35 times. He has also been conferred upon the title of Athlete of the Year twice by Track & Field. The inductor of International Association of Athletics Hall of Fame has won six IAFF World Championships consecutively. He has improved his personal record from 1984 to 1994 from 5.85m to 6.14m.
Jan Zelezny
Jan Zelezny is a former Czech track and field athlete. He is an Olympic champion with many gold medals as well as a world record holder. He has numerous records registered in his name. He holds the record for the top five javelin performances ever. He came up with another record in 1996 with a 98.48 throw and made world championships record in the throw of 92.8m 2001. He has hurled 53 of 99 throws over 90 meters. He nowadays gives coaching in Prague and is working for the IOC.
Shannon Lee Miller
Shannon Lee Miller is the 10th most decorated gymnast. She is the one who unofficially led “Magnificent 7” in 1996 Women’s gymnast Event. She has won 5 gold medals in 1992 Barcelona Olympics and is ranked second most decorated female gymnast in the United States. She is a mother of two children and is living a peaceful life with her husband John Falconetti, who happens to be the President of Drummond Press.
Cathy Freeman
Cathy Freeman, a retired Austrailian sprinter who owns the collection of about 10 medals had her first gold in the 2000 Olympic. Cathy’s is an expert in 400-meter. She bid farewell to her career in 2003 and since then is spending her time with her daughter and husband. She is also running the Cathy Freeman Association and the Indigenous Education Foundation. She is also working as an ambassador for Cottage By The Sea, that caters to the needy children.
Chad Le Clos
Chad Le Clos is a famous, talented Olympic swimmer in his own right but since 2012, has become well-known for his public rivalry with Michael Phelps. Le Clos’ last gold medal victory was in the 2012 London Games when he beat Phelps in the200-meter butterfly event. It was then, that Phelps announced his retirement from the sport but quickly returned after Chad Le Clos was credited as the rival who took Michael Phelps out of swimming for good. In Rio, Le Clos and Phelps went head to head in their usual specialty, the butterfly, but both swimmers fell behind Hungarian swimmer, Tamas Kenderesi. Chad Le Clos is the most decorated South African Olympian to date.
Kerri Walsh Jennings
Kerri Walsh Jennings the pro Volleyball player rose to international fame in 2016 Rio Olympic Games. She has three Olympic gold medals under her belt making her one of the most celebrated volleyball players in history. She and her teammate Misty May- Treanor together are called “the greatest beach volleyball team of all time”.
