What Else Found
Dr. Tkachev explained, “The child was lying on an underlay of birch bark. There were two iron knives in the area of the belt, an arrowhead and reindeer bones under the feet.” The figure was covered in furs and had roasted venison placed alongside.
Sikhirtya
A year ago one more child was found wrapped in burial robes and enveloped in white bronze inlays. It is popularly believed that these graves are of children of Sikhirtya people who stepped into the region about 2800 years ago.
New Site
On the same peninsula, another mysterious burial site was found i.e. Yamal. This site too had something unique about it. All the bodies found on this site were inflicted with disease and were positioned in a fetal way. The researchers stated that in medieval times the place had no burial of this sort.
Ritual Sacrifice
There was one more revelation that came to them that the bodies they had found were used in some ritual sacrifice. Scientists deduced it by the position and the condition of buried corpses. The bodies were undernourished and neighbored with bracelets, bronze knives and different tools.
Habitation
Well, the chain of discoveries expanded to the south when a group of researchers came up with one more amazing discovery that could provide answers to some of the questions regarding the habitation of the region. A group while studying Siberia’s Denisova Cave stumbled upon an artifact that seemed helpful in finding out about the people who lived there.
A Tiara
The group had found pieces of the primitive tiara that is believed to be of a man. The tiara perhaps was taken in use to keep the hair off the face. They are still unsure about what was it used for.
