“She said, ‘Surprise!’ and dropped the sign, and I was confused,” Matt recalled, as he spoke about the moment Rebecca unveiled her pregnancy to him. “And then I actually poked her belly because I wasn’t sure if she was playing a trick on me or not. Clearly, she was not. There were a lot of thoughts going through my mind,” he added, confirming just how perplexed he was.
The Story Goes On
Matt further revealed that he even had to inquire if she was kidding or not, “When it was real I was extremely confused so I asked, ‘Is that real?’ to be sure, then hugged her because it was the only thing I could think to do.” Their heartwarming story does not stop just there. There were so many things that followed the happier-than-ever couple.
Hidden Well
Matt was clearly caught off guard, so him being shocked was completely natural. He slowly kept his arms down and gawked at his wife’s baby bump in utter shock. The other people present there were roaring with cheer and excitement too. For Matt not only would it amazing to see his family again, but to find out that his family is growing like this would be double the pleasure.
In Utter Disbelief
For him to get back home to his family after eight long months of serving his country overseas would be a gift in itself. To top all of this, he discovers that he and his wife are expecting a new baby? Matt must be on cloud 9. Rebecca had managed to keep this a secret from him and he was definitely surprised. He even had to poke her belly and ask, “Is that real? Nuh-uh!”
Back At Home
This secret had been brewing just a week after Matt had to leave home to fulfill his duty. Rebecca went to the doctor as she was not quite feeling normal. To her surprise, the doctor gave her the news that she was indeed a pregnant woman. “I found out about a week after he left. I didn’t believe it,” Rebecca explained, confirming that even she was shocked by the news.
Confirming The News
Since Rebecca was not expecting to hear such a news, especially after her husband had just left to report for duty, she wanted to be sure. “I took the pregnancy test again and I was like, ‘Oh no way.’ I was excited about it and I emailed him and I told him to call me as soon as he gets a chance,” she disclosed to interviewers, talking about the emotions that flowed through her when she confirmed her pregnancy.
