When he reached home, Rebecca did not want to waste another minute to tell him her reasons for acting so weird lately. For anyone, it would be wise to speak about it as soon as possible. “But then I thought about it for a few minutes and I was like, ‘You know, this isn’t how I want to tell him – in an email,'” she revealed as she explained that thoughts that ran through her head during that time.
Her Plan Fails
“I emailed him back and said, ‘I just miss your voice,” she said when asked about what she wrote to him. But then again, that was not going to wear off all of his worries and misunderstandings. But then the ship that Matt was posted on had to go head-to-head with one of the world’s most powerful nations. It was a sad fact for Rebecca as her plan was crumbling right in front of her.
Day By Day
Rebecca even admitted that it was the beginning of keeping the life-altering secret from everyone else. She said it was especially harder because Matt’s deployment had been extended to a whole month. Because the USS Carl Vinson had received order to make a show of force along the coast of North Korea, there was no choice for the couple but to remain separated for while once again.
On Opposite Sides
But there was one thing that was very scary. Matt’s life was in danger more than ever, as North Korea is regarded as one of the most dangerous nations out there. Matt was doing the best he can, fighting and protecting his country, working hard to serve his nation while his wife was at home doing the unimaginable. However, she was not going to get away that easy as karma would not let her run free.
Keeping Up Appearances
“I got emotional about it and I was wondering, ‘Should I tell him? Would I feel guilty if something happens and he doesn’t know?'” Rebecca explains, talking about her emotional state when Matt has to be away for so long. “I went back and forth about it.” You could just imagine how difficult it must be for her to have to deal with all these frustrations all alone.
To Tell Or Not?
But then she thought, if he knew about it, it would surely mess up his mentality and that could affect his overall performance at work. But there was also a chance that he could come home sooner than before. However, Rebecca was doing her best to keep this a surprise and that it gets revealed just as she planned it. You would certainly feel emotional seeing his response.
