He explained, “This dates from the golden period of Chinese art, which is called the Tang Dynasty, between the sixth century and the ninth century.” Apparently, the statue was way older than the lady had thought. Not many people are aware that the reigning period of the Tang dynasty was considered ancient China’s “golden age” of art. In case you don’t know, this Chinese empire stretched from 618 to 907 AD.
