As soon as the boat was in the range of approachability, one of the bears held on to it like it was his life. As can be seen from the picture, the bear was drenched in ice cold water and was shivering head to toe. It was scared and was struggling to get to safety. It was too weak to climb up on the boat without any help.
Biting Its Way Up
It even tried to use its sharp teeth to hold on to the various parts of the boat in the hope that they would help it to lift its body up. But because of its slippery body and weak posture, it just could not support its own weight.
Cautious Approach
Even though the fishermen really wanted to help the cubs, they were cautious because after all, they were dealing with wild animals. One of the boat travelers, Ruslan Lukanin’s on helping these cubs said, “It was dangerous, of course. But they are living creatures.We couldn’t just look the other way.”
The Plea For Help
The bodies of the cubs were made slippery by the water, and they had almost perished shivering in that cold water. The cub realized that he could not make it to complete safety alone. The eyes and expressions of the bear seemed like a plea for help and portrayed its utter desperation. He looked up to the people on the boat knowing only they could save him now.
Fishermen’s Concerns
The fishermen also cared for their lives. Among themselves, they could be heard talking on the video. They had to make sure that no one got hurt the bears were safe. Firstly they realized that the bear was too heavy to be lifted by the net, but eventually, they had a breakthrough.
Playing It Safe
The fishermen used various techniques to pacify the bear cubs, they even tried talking with them. In the following video, the men could be heard talking thus to the bears- “Take a rest, little one, take a rest. Hold on, hold on.” “‘Don’t be afraid, just don’t be afraid. We’ll rescue you, don’t be afraid.”
