Butterscotch
This bird was rescued along with 199 other chicken from a factory farm. The Farm Sanctuary found the chicken infused with mites and parasites, kept in a dark and stuffy box with a swollen eye. In the end, Butterscotch had to lose her left eye because of the infection. Now she stays on a farm, free and open for her to play around, enjoying the grass and sunlight. She can enjoy her time outside and walk around the premises of her new home.
Raju the Crying Elephant
Raju was more or less a slave for 50 long years of his life. He was used for entertainment purposes but then the Wildlife SOS came to his rescue. When they rescued him from his shackles, he actually burst into tears because he realized he was finally going to be free. Raju is now happier than ever, spending time in his own pool, getting proper medication and a new girlfriend! He really deserves to be pampered because of all the work he had been doing trying to please his masters and tons of tourists.
Frankenberry
Looking at the first photo of Frankenberry, the sea turtle, you can just tell that he is not healthy. The Marine Animal Rescue Team at New England Aquarium took him in with wounds on both sides of his eyes. No one is sure how he got injured but anyway received proper treatment. He got the medical treatment he needed and was soon ready to be released into the wild once again. Now he is free to float about and swim to wherever he wants to in the ocean.
Gulf Oil Spill Pelican
This wild pelican was a victim of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. This oil spill affected as many as 82,000 birds plus many other ocean animals. The International Bird Rescue in Louisiana came to the rescue. The oil separates a bird’s feathers so they get directly exposed to the sun ending up with hypothermia or hyperthermia. The bird was cleaned and properly treated before being released once again. It is nice to know that the rescuers saved this bird from dying an untimely death.
Mr. Biscuits
Sweet Mr. Biscuits was a stray cat who was discovered near the engine of a car, where the cat was planning to sleep in. The owner of the car did not realize the cat was there so Mr. Biscuits suffered an intense burn and may have been burnt. Just the mere thought of this poor kitty getting burned makes us flinch. Mr. Biscuits must have been convinced it was the end of his life when happened. The owner soon realized something was wrong and pretty soon the Grannie Project, came to the rescue.
Meliha
Meliha was rescued with a severe eye infection that left her eyeballs bulging out of her sockets. Her rescuers cleaned her and fed her and took her to the vet. The vet told her adopter that her eyes may need to be taken out. But after using the right eyedrops and ointments, Meliha’s recovered soon. Meliha is now blind but has found a forever home where she received all the love she’ll ever need. Poor little Meliha must have been relieved to know she would be taken care of for the rest of her life.
