NathanGetting To Be Healthy
In the shelter, Gumby began to experience things he had not experienced throughout his whole life. The shelter provided him with such care and affection that Gumby quickly as he was more active and happier than ever before. He was initially given medical care and was also fed, bathed and given space to play around every day. In less than no time, Gumby had become healthy and oh-so-adorable. With that clean cream fur, he is absolutely irresistible and the staff working at the shelter were all in love with the sweet dog.
Everybody Loves Gumby
He was so charming and adorable that even just a few moments with him was enough to be under his spell. Can you blame them though? Just a look at this dog and you can quickly tell that he is not of the vicious kind or the type that would inflict harm on other near him. The folks working at the Charleston Animal Society had fallen head over heels in love with him, and the feeling was mutual. Gumby was very happy to be around all these people and he was always excited to play with anyone who would spare their time with him.
When Separation Comes
So it seemed like everything was going well when Gumby was kept at the shelter. There was not a single problem when the dog was rescued by the staff from the unforgiving streets. The atmosphere of the shelter was so happy and everyone was getting along. The dog was very happy to be in the presence of such a loving crowd and even the staff members were glad that such a lovable dog was in their shelter. So, neither side expected that they’d ever be separated from each other, but soon, they were to be.
Gumby The Escape Artist
As most of the procedure in the animals shelter goes, the dog was put up for adoption. Since Gumby is a very charming dog, offers started pouring in and pretty soon he found himself the most suitable adoptive family. So very quickly, Gumby was adopted, but he was one slippery four-legged pooch so you know by now what he would be up to. This dog did not like to be tied down so obviously there was trouble coming its way for the people that adopted him. How were they to know that he had this habit?
Short Episodes Of Adoption
This dog was about to have a very interesting time with each and every one of the new families that adopted him. His first adoption lasted only three days. He was a little more patient with the next one that decided to take him in. So how long did the next family get to keep him? Fortunately, the second adoption lasted a little longer; six days. Soon enough, this had become a pattern, and initially, no one understood why. What would be the reason for this, otherwise, friendly dog to keep running away from every home that adopts him?
But He Keeps Coming Back
So what happened to the interesting dog in the coming years? Gumby was eventually adopted only to run away to come back to the shelter. He was then taken back to his home but managed to escape once again. What was so wrong with these families that he did not want to stay more than a year with them? It had become a sort of tradition for him to find his way back. The staff at the shelter were completely astonished by this behavior and wanted to get to the bottom of this.
