“I have a few little tattoos, but usually my tattoos were [from] before they became a fad,” Dolly has confessed, “I have a tendency to scar easy, and I’m so fair-skinned that I stay purple right where I’ve had a scar. So I started having little pastel tattoos — pastel butterflies or little things — just to cover scars.” Also, Roseanne Barr has spoken about Dolly’s tattoos revealing, “Do you know who’s totally tattooed… I shouldn’t even tell this. Dolly Parton is totally tattooed… She showed me. She’s got all these awesome tattoos all over her body. No black or blue lines. All pastel, gorgeous bows all over everything.”
From Rags to Riches
Although Dolly has proclaimed herself as being “dirt poor” while growing up, she has certainly changed her circumstances! Her fortune has grown year by year and now Dolly Parton is estimated to be worth a staggering $500m. There have been reports that she has earned quite a hefty amount from Houston’s version of her song ‘I Will Always Love You’.
Her Hair!
Dolly Parton’s look is indeed one that stands out from the rest. Her signature look is definitely how she styles her hair. Yes her big puffy wigs have contributed a lot in how she appears but there is a big reason why she wears them. She began using wigs since her natural hair did not permit her to style it the way she prefers. She now goes out in public only after putting a wig on!
Various Charities
Parton has earned enough money to give back to charity. She works with the American Red Cross and several HIV/AIDS-related charities. In 2006, she donated $500,000 for building a $90-million hospital in Sevierville in Dr. Robert F. Thomas’s name. He was the doctor who delivered her. She even organized a concert for this cause ,where 8,000 people were in attendance. She also let PETA use her music as well.
