Loop Rock Girl’s title changes every year with a new girl winning it. Shannon had no solid experience of participating in the beauty contests. Notwithstanding, the lack of experience, she managed to impress the judges. The radio station got so mesmerized by her performance that they decided to let her stay Loop Rock Girl and that also forever. That was her first milestone in the fashion world.
Solution
The permanent title of Loop Rock Girl did away with her money problem. As she was paid continuously by the loop rock calendar, she need not think much about the money now. Which clearly meant that she could explore other opportunities while being free of the tension about money.
How People From Squad Reacted?
Well as mentioned earlier, Shannon was known for surprising others. Earlier she surprised everyone with her decision of enlisting in the military and now when she got featured on magazine covers her former squad had to double take on the magazine when they saw her adorning the cover page. Shannon vividly remembers how some of them were utterly surprised as they used to make her clean their room. And the rest of them, she explains “Marines that I’ve worked with in the past are asking me to sign calendars and magazines for them and their friends now, and that’s kind of weird but very cool at the same time because it shows how supportive they are!”
Parents Not Happy
Notwithstanding the success she was having in this field, her parents did not like the fact that she had to pose in nude while being photographed. “My family is a very Christian and conservative family originally from a small town in Minnesota,” says Shannon. She added more to it, “When I started modeling, my mom said, ‘I don’t know about that.’ She wanted me to stay in the Marine Corps…”
Never Ending Love
Though she has changed her profession, she still is in love with her former occupation. She admitted “Had I not had other dreams I still wanted to accomplish in my life I would have re-enlisted without hesitation… and although I am no longer on active duty, I will always bleed green.”
Lessons From The Past
No doubt, the tough training she underwent during her last profession was helping her in this field also. Now also she is fully conscious about her physical fitness and spends her time exercising at least four times a week excluding the long runs she does almost every day. Not only that the Loop Rock girl sometimes also does horseback riding and other games she learned in her childhood.
