Initially, Shannon had no intention of serving in the navy. In fact, having a career in the military did not cross her mind until she entered her graduation! After passing out her high school this pretty young lady chose the most followed option and went on to apply for college. It was a typical four-year college located near her home.

While ambling on her campus one day she saw an advertisement, it was about enlistment in the army. The advertisement gave her an idea. She started to ponder about getting enrolled in the army. Perhaps admission in the army would provide her the change she was looking for. But she had no idea the hardship this profession required.

Ignoring all the susceptibilities of people she finally joined marines. Thereafter, she went to South Carolina to undergo boot camp training. She knew it was going to be quite a feat. But the words of the recruiter were still inside her head. In fact, not just the recruiter but all other women trainees also thought that she would not be able to survive the hardship of a training and would give up one day.

She had seen many women succumbing to the pressure during the camp. Many women even left in the middle of the training that sometimes discouraged Shannon. But being a woman of true spirit she stared the challenges in the face and took them on every time she came across any. She was there to break every stereotype that a woman is too soft to survive physical strains. With that thought in her mind, she successfully completed her boot camp training.
Getting Into Finals
Surprisingly, Shannon got into the finals. That instance provided her another dimension. She realized that she can have a career in the glamorous world if she wants. But as it is believed that a career in the glamorous world does not guarantee a financially sound life. So, keeping it at a side for a while, Shannon thought of having a practical career to fall upon if time requires.
Exploring The Glamorous World
Along with studies she looked for other possible career options in the glamorous world. After a while, the veteran marine officer decided to participate in next Loop Rock Girl. She applied for the competition and got selected marking the beginning of her glamorous life.
