What About It?
There are guidelines and policies in schools that people have to follow. You cannot just waltz in school and do whatever you like. These rules are meant to maintain decorum in the school campus on grounds of behavior and clothing. Clothing guidelines differ from one school to another. There is a strict zero-tolerance policy in most school where short dresses are. Demetra Alarcon was attending one of these schools. So just like the girls who wish to wear these comfortable clothes during summer, this incident happened to a school girl named Demetra Alarcon. She was a normal school girl living in California. She is an ordinary kid who enjoys anything that normal kid her age would enjoy doing. But there was trouble coming her way when she least expected it.
Here Is Dad
And back at home, the teenage schoolgirl Demetra had quite the folks to look up to. Her dad Tony Alarcon was definitely someone who was worth taking inspiration from. If you check his Linkedin account, Tony is a man who has a passion for real estate with about 20 years worth of experience. He works as an independent investment banker. “Passionate about applying the art and science of financial analysis and risk mitigation,” he has described himself on his Linkedin profile summary. He is a man who works hard and strives to achieve his goals and what he aims to do. Tony has also founded the Legacy Wealth Ventures, which is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dad Speaks Out
Tony had this in mind not because of the fact that it involved his daughter, but because he genuinely felt like it should not have been this way, that this was truly unfair to any school girl. Many other girls from her school were also “breaking the rules.” “Demetra isn’t alone,” he informed, “Just sit in Fisher’s parking lot and you’ll see that.” After doing some inspection Tony could immediately tell that there was a biased policy in favor of boys in the school.
Parent’s Permission
He then ended the interview with his thoughts about the dress code at Demetra’s school and schools in general. He is a firm believer that parents are supposed to be the ones who decide what their children should and should not wear to school. However, this does not apply in reality so he had to look for a means to get his point across. Tony decided to get some support from the local community.
Sharing His Opinions
So Demetra’s dad took to the internet, looking for a wider online community. He then logged into NextDoor.com. He immediately posted about his views on the school’s dress code. The kind of clothes that were not allowed in the school were listed.
