The Amish do not want huge cathedrals or churches to go to worship. They believe that the bible can be taught anywhere and does not need a huge landmark of a building to gather in. They have church proceedings even in public areas if it is convenient.
Church Is Anywhere
Church service in the Amish need not take place is a church so there is no specific location for worshiping. The service takes place at any location that seems convenient enough where there is no need for big instruments like the organ, drums, violins or grand piano like a typical church set-up.
Their Take On Their Religion
The Amish people do not believe that they are above everyone else just because they live such an indulgent-free lifestyle. They are not dictators who see every other religion as a threat or nuisance. Arrogance is one of the biggest sins according to the Amish church.
No To Birth-Control
On an average Amish couple usually, have 5 to 7 kids! Since they do not use any type of contraceptives, there is no way to control the number of kids they have. They also consider kids as blessings from above so the more the merrier in the Amish household.
Pacifists To The Core
You will not see any Amish people enroll in the army. They are just like the Quakers in Pennsylvania who were completely against the violence of any kind. They refuse to use any forceful approaches and make sure they remain as peaceful as they can. They are not keen on the war so the army is automatically a ‘no’.
Medical Treatments Are Available
The only rely on modern technology and that too for a good reason: health. They are not against going to see doctors if anyone gets too sick on a serious note. They still stick to the teachings of the bible as there is no word that prohibits getting medical treatments from experts.
