When rumors spread that Dolly had endorsed Hillary Clinton in the year 2016, Dolly was ready with an appropriate response. She said, “I have not endorsed Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.” Clarifying what she meant to say, Dolly said, “Someone asked me, ‘Would I think about a woman being president?’ I was saying that I think a woman would be great, I’m sure Hillary would be fine. I have not endorsed either candidate. I was only saying I might run myself because I have the hair for it, it’s huge. And I think we could use more boobs in the race. I do not get involved in political things. I have not decided who I am voting for.”
She Thinks They’re Nuts
During the promotion of her tour, “Pure and Simple”, the media asked her about the political scenario in the country. A very vocal Dolly said,“It’s the greatest show on television right now. I don’t know where they’re going to land but I think they’re both nuts, let’s talk about what we really need — taking care of us. I think people just want to have a feeling of security. It’s just like political terrorism right now, they got us all scared to death about everything.”
A Suicide Attempt, Revealed
It would be very sad and surprising to know that Dolly had attempted suicide. Reason being her breakup with a man with whom she was having affair. At that time she was married to Carl Dean and everything was public. She revealed that if it was not for her dog things would have been very different. In her book, she wrote, “The tap-tap-tap of his paws jolted me back to reality and I suddenly froze. I put the gun down. Then I prayed. I kinda believe Popeye was a spiritual messenger from God,”
Proudest Moment
We all know now that Dolly has a kind and caring heart. The fact again got concrete when she wrote about the proudest moment in her life in an op-ed piece. Obviously, it was not performing with some other fellow artist whom she admired or a brilliant show of hers, rather, the fact that her foundation ” My People Fund” had distributed a total of $10,000 to each and every family who had suffered in the 2016 Tennessee wildfires. She said, “I know $10,000 can’t solve everything, but I do hope the money will help them to dream again.”

Well, obviously if you are talking about the awards that Dolly Parton has won, then brace yourself for a very long list. We all know that The album Trio was a turning event in the career of Parton. The success of the album acted as a launch pad in her career. She reigned the Billboard’s Country Album chart for five weeks. She went on to win Grammy Award for Best Group Country Performance and was nominated for the album got nominated the very next year. Finally, her name was put into the Hall of Fame in 1999.
