On the 41st day at sea and covering an unbelievable 1,500 miles, Tami made it to the lands of Hawaii. She managed to survive through the roughest of days. The regret of making out of the sea alone was too much for her. Richard helped her even after he was gone. But she wasn’t yet over with the grief. Something helped her to get over this misery, ie, writing.
Red Sky In Mourning
“Red Sky in Mourning,” a book with the main line, “a true story of love, loss, and survival at the sea,” received great reviews and helped Tami to move on. “I had always wanted to write it. I couldn’t believe how much I was still holding around in my head, and just purging it like that really helped me to get past it all.” Her story went on to inspire many through reading and watching as well.
Adrift
A movie named Adrift was released in 2018 starring Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin, as Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp. The movie received a rating of 6.7 IMDb ratings and was praised by many critics.
Thanking Each Day
Tami has now moved on and lives a happy married life with her husband and has children too. But she could never forget the Hurricane Raymond that changed her life forever.
