Copeland’s Letter
So, Copeland, the Navy Officer decided that he wanted to do something nice for his girlfriend while he was under deployment far away. Copeland sent a letter to the host for her upcoming 60th birthday. He congratulated her and included a small request that he had in mind. Ellen decided to read the letter out loud on the show, and Gonsalves quickly got emotional sitting there.
Heartfelt Letter And Tears
The host knew that she had to get Gonsalves a little emotional, so she carefully read her boyfriend’s note clearly. Everybody in the audience could feel that the note was heartfelt and sincere. The Naval officer’s words had certainly gotten Gonsalves all teary eyed. After realizing that the latter was from her Navy boyfriend, she could no longer hold back her tears. She could not believe that her boyfriend had taken time from his busy duties to write to her favorite television host.
Unable To Contain Herself
Copeland revealed the fact that Gonsalves was actually Ellen’s biggest fan. She was such a big fan that even when she would FaceTime with Copeland, she would never miss the show, making him watch it too. The Navy Officer also informed Ellen that if Gonsalves was present at her birthday show, it would be the best news for his girlfriend. And indeed she was ecstatic to be sitting there…
Sad Ending
“I know nothing would make her happier than getting to celebrate your birthday with you at your show. Thanks for keeping my girl company while I’m away,” Copeland added, in his letter to Ellen. He was clearly saddened by the fact that they had to remain separated. The letter ended with such a sad news, and Gonsalves immediately tried to relay her disappointment.
