His Sons Were Exploring
There were only Luciano and his two sons present at the time of the discovery. One of his son Marco squeezed through the pipe as he was small enough to fit in. The other end of the pipe opened up to the main hall of the tomb. the curiosity had taken the best of them and they knew there was a lot for them to explore. So, they began visiting the area regularly.
Getting Through Pipe

Neighbors Call The Police
Well, they called in expert help after a lot of time. Before that, they would get into the premises on their own in dirty clothes. It had become their routine. They would enter and exit the building in dirty clothes. Moreover, they would carry the debris in their car to dispose of them somewhere far. These regular activities of theirs made the neighbors grow suspicious. The doubtful neighbors rang the police to investigate the matter.
His Excavations Were Stopped
Well, the arrival of the police did hamper their work. The authorities charged Luciano for running an archaeological work site without acquiring any permit. However, the man got freed of charges in a few days and he resumed his work.
