Who is this person who was given a huge surprise by the host? Well, meet Maura Gonsalves. She is a 25-year-old, residing in San Diego, California. She was a recent attendee at one of the tapings of Ellen’s episodes. Even though this does not appear to be a big deal, Gonsalves is a big fan of ‘The Ellen Show’, so you can already guess how excited she was when she got the chance to sit there… Gonsalves was in a relationship with a Navy officer named Noah Copeland. The couple had shifted to San Diego from Massachusetts as of July of 2016. They had just been living there for about 5 months in San Diego, then Copeland had to be deployed. And so, since duty called, he had no choice but to abide…
Copeland’s Letter
So, Copeland, the Navy Officer decided that he wanted to do something nice for his girlfriend while he was under deployment far away. Copeland sent a letter to the host for her upcoming 60th birthday. He congratulated her and included a small request that he had in mind. Ellen decided to read the letter out loud on the show, and Gonsalves quickly got emotional sitting there. 
Heartfelt Letter And Tears
The host knew that she had to get Gonsalves a little emotional, so she carefully read her boyfriend’s note clearly. Everybody in the audience could feel that the note was heartfelt and sincere. The Naval officer’s words had certainly gotten Gonsalves all teary eyed. After realizing that the latter was from her Navy boyfriend, she could no longer hold back her tears. She could not believe that her boyfriend had taken time from his busy duties to write to her favorite television host.
A Special Guest
To give everybody in the audience a huge shock, Copeland himself came onstage with tickets to Ellen’s birthday show. With him, he held a bouquet of flowers that looked absolutely magical. Gonsalves immediately rushed to her boyfriend in his military uniform straight to his arms. Even the audience could not contain their excitement, cheering and roaring as loud as possible. 
A Sweet Episode
And so, for Gonsalves, this would have been one of the most memorable days ever. She ended up getting VIP tickets to Ellen’s 60th birthday show and the best surprise she could ever want. She ended up getting an unexpected emotional reunion with her deployed lover. Copeland’s effort to keep his woman happy while he was away was as sweet as the whole episode. It made the audience joyfully tearful and also the viewers at home had something to smile about.
