Right Downwards
Trying to cling onto all the scraps of the raft, he fell off the waterfall and was rushed through rocks and tree limbs for almost half an hour he finally made it to the shore and was stunned to know that he survived. His great feelings of being thankful for his life quickly disappeared when he realized the true fact.
Afraid And Alone
He was alone in the jungle and was terrified to death with the very reality of being all alone in the wild with no food and supplies, surrounded by dangers on every side. Yossi was trying to calculate his chances for survival and he was filled with negative thoughts. He remembered one thought which made him look forward.
Uncle Survivor
The moment when he was covered with bad thoughts, he noticed his backpack being washed up on the riverside. He found his uncle’s present that he gave Yossi as a child, a book. According to his uncle, the book helped him to survive the Holocaust and kept him motivated. This hope made Yossi emotional and he missed his family. He knew he has to go back and live life, he was sure that he won’t let his life end in the jungle, the challenges were too difficult to survive from.
One Out!
Four days later, when Yossi was realizing that he could never see his friends again, Kevin, the photographer was finally rescued by some local fisherman after wandering in the forest for five days. The other duo of Marcus and Karl never returned home, despite several rescue attempts. Yossi too was still missing and with every other day, their hopes to make it out of the jungle were declining.
Horrifying
Yossi didn’t have any types of equipment, food, allies, or anything that could be a help other than his mind. His days were like a war where he was fighting the nature to survive. His life was miserably stuck in the wild, he was getting tiny food around the jungle. Yossi was starving for 7 days, he sank in the quicksand twice and was suffering from a fungal infection on his feet, he was exhausted and couldn’t take it anymore.
Techniques
But as time passed he had to survive somehow and hence he learned the various techniques like finding berries and fruits. When he couldn’t find anything he waited for the monkeys to drop it so that he could pick up, eat and he even hunted birds’ egg from nests. Every day he used to walk but didn’t reach anywhere. How long was this going to last this way?
