The doctor had her jaws dropped as surprisingly there wasn’t one set of twins but two. Yes, you heard that right. Alex was pregnant with quadruplet. This was a shock as well as a surprise to the couple. They always wanted twins and now they are having 4 kids made their heads revolved. But this was not all.
Huge Size
In the months to come, Alex’s belly grew enormously large. She had a severe backache, her stomach always bloated and her nights went sleepless. With four babies in the womb, pregnancy phase got even tough. And the next ultrasound made it even worse.
Counting Five
The doctor was looking for the well being and proper development of the quadruplet. In a teasing manner, the number of fetuses was counted. But the counting went on like this, one…two…three…four…five. Wait, what? Did we hear five?
Quintuplets
The expert again counted the number of heads he saw. And they were five. The doctor was shocked that just a month prior to delivery such a case was observed. Alex recalls, “When we finally found a fifth head, I started to cry,” Her emotions took over her. This was not going to be easy.
Not Sure
This time the doctors performed a thorough examination to be sure of the baby’s development and their number. Though there were in total five babies, their genders were yet not identified. How many girls and how many boys?
A Rare Case
The experts say that the chances of conceiving quintuplets naturally is extremely rare. When quadruplets itself is rare, quintuplets is altogether next to impossible. And such a chance is placed around once in 55 million. Alex’s pregnancy made history with such a discovery.
