Cashier Moving Up

After working as an executive for years, Travis knew the worth of the designation. When he just joined his first role was to take orders for the restaurant’s signature steakburgers and frozen custard, hot dogs, concretes and sundaes. Travis was used to all this now but when he started his job, he didn’t make quite an impression on anyone. His first year at the job was nothing but a failure.

Rough Start

His first impression wasn’t good at all on his managers. Travis looked like a guy who might quit the job any day without informing anyone. In short, he wasn’t trusted much. However, Travis took his job seriously from day 1. Even if nobody observed his efforts, he was trying hard. This wasn’t some irresponsible person and he wanted to prove his potential to his managers and grow within the organization. He knew in order to become a reliable employee he has to be dedicated and innovative.

Not Knowing What To Expect

Travis used to sit there, at his position, greeting customers. In free time he used to think how he should react if an angry person turns up who is disappointed with the services. Although he tried to stay prepared for any unforeseen situation he knew only time will tell if he was prepared to tackle any of it at all.

Problem On The Horizon

So far, he never got stuck in any trouble causing scenario. Travis wasn’t really with it because he wanted to get that experience on his side. Due to this reason he was always unconfident when it came to being able to handle all types of customers. However, he was soon going to get the opportunity he was looking for and it was going to make a bigger impact than he ever thought.

What Could Be Wrong?

A young boy turned up on the counter with a dessert that is mostly liked by kids, this was a usual thing to happen. Travis didn’t assume there was even a mere possibility for any problem at first. As soon as the boy reached the counter and kept the dessert, Travis greeted him and looked at the computer screen to make a bill for it.

Sweet Tooth

“[The youngster] wants to order dessert,” Travis later told in an interview. He recalls everything seemed to be alright until he looked at the boy’s face. He was a bit unsure about something. This wasn’t a confusion whether to take this dessert or choose something else. It was another thing that was the reason for the little boy’s confusion.
