Heading Towards Fiji
This was not the first time the Maiken crew had undertaken a sea journey. They have been constant visitors of the sea but never did they witness a sight that they saw on that day. This was the first and last time they saw nature swirling her wands. That day in question, the crew members were heading towards Fiji after checking all the possibilities in the Vava’u island group. Vava’u island is the amalgamation of one large island and forty smaller ones. This beautiful island has a number of stories associated with it. One of them comes from Polynesia stating that god Maui caught the bottom of the sea brought the sand up and made Vava’u island. There are many other similar stories about the island doing the rounds.
No-One Realized What’s In Front, Then They Saw This
Feeling Of Uneasiness
The ship burdened with the crew was heading towards Fiji when suddenly all of the members began to feel restless. The feeling of uneasiness kept on growing with their advancement. There was something very wrong with the atmosphere. The crew sped up the boat in order to reach the land as fast as they can. Little did they know that a bizarre sight was awaiting them ahead.

When The Sailors Realized Whats In Front, It Was Too Late
The moment finally arrived. The entire crew was standing face to face with what they thought to be ‘sandbar.’ The whole of the team got their mind numb with terror. With their eyes wide open and legs shaking with fear, they continued staring at the sandbar. It was then that they realized the suspicious piece was not ‘sandbar.’ It was something else.
A Trail Of Sand
By the appearance of the pumice, it felt as if they would get collided with the rock. But surprisingly, they managed to sail through it. The piece was made with the amalgamation of several tiny pumice. The eerie sight had taken best of the sailors. They moved ahead to discover the reason behind its formation. By this, they had inched closer to the truth.
Spreading A Long Way
Now the crew was surrounded with seamless sand. They had lost the beginning and were nowhere near its end. It seemed as if they had landed in a city of sand that refused to end. The members were having a mixed feeling of curiosity and fear.
