Couple’s Time
“Tonight, we tucked our kids in bed and my husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck,” told Kathy about the day when she sat with her husband celebrated the long journey they have completed together and how they are yet to do so much in their lives.
Sudden Thought
When they started to think about how everything has been going perfectly fine ever since they met each other. About their wedding day, and how it redefined their lives. And suddenly they remembered the unopened gift that was still kept in a corner of a cupboard. That’s when they started to rethink their decision about not opening the gift.
9 Years Later
“We were talking about how excited we were to attend an upcoming wedding in Kalamazoo (where we met and went to college) and discussing what would be the perfect gift for the newlyweds. So, I thought back to our wedding day (nearly 9 years ago) and tried to recall the gifts that had meant the most to me,” said Kathy.
Fun Story
So far, Kathy and Brandon remained successful in keeping the present untouched. “The funny thing? The gift that meant the very most [to me] was still sitting in a closet… unopened.” mentioned Kathy on her Facebook page.
Honest Confession
Kathy also made a confession that they were no different than the rest of the couples. The past 9 years hadn’t been without arguments and fights. However, nothing was drastic enough to make them feel like it was time to open the box. After all, they assumed they knew what the gift box signifies.
Symbol Of Failure
Kathy explained it by saying, “now, there had obviously been plenty of disagreements, arguments and slammed doors throughout our nine years [together]. There were even a couple of instances where we both considered giving up… but we never opened the box. I honestly think that we both avoided turning to the box because it would have symbolized our failure.”
