The name of the woman was Kathy Rowe. A 53-year-old woman who also wanted to buy the house. However, she got outbid by Jerry and Janice. The woman, a county worker who lives with a disabled daughter and an ill husband had gone crazy about the house. So, when she learned that Jerry and Janice have gotten the house, she decided to take revenge.
Best Mom
Ironically, the woman once had been counted in San Diego’s 50 best mom for taking care of her disabled son. It was unbelievable that she would do something like that.
Desire For House
She wanted this house for a long time. She had felt very positive vibes inside the house. She said, “When I walked in, I felt like it was my house.” She wanted the house at any cost. “I was jealous, destroyed and devastated with pain and depression,” Kathy admitted.
Heart-Breaking
Kathy reminisced, “When I found out we didn’t get it, it was devastating, it was heart-breaking.” She added, “It was almost like the loss of a loved one. It was that critical to me.” Clearly, the woman had gotten very much affected by the loss of the house.
Her Point
Kathy said, “They didn’t mean to harm me.” “but them getting the house did harm me. It’s a little bit of payback, so it would make the pain less … I’m going through so much pain so if I cause someone else a little bit of pain, it equalizes it or helps me feel better.”
Collecting Evidence
It was then a task force was formed. The force found all the necessary evidence and with that, the woman voluntarily admitted that it was she behind all the conspiracy. Eventually, the old woman was sentenced to nine years in federal prison.
