Not That Rich
Ariel writes in that post that the couple is not that rich. They only manage to earn enough to fulfill their basic needs. If they wanted they could have waited and saved money to buy themselves the luxurious rings but they did not want to. They wanted to live together and after dating for 2 long years they didn’t feel like to wait for more.
Limited Savings
Ariel even tells everyone that, at that point, she was only a 21-year old woman who was still studying in school to pursue her career as a teacher while Quinn too was looking up for jobs. They weren’t rich enough to afford the luxuries but were rich enough to own the person they loved. And she had something more to say as well.
Not Needed
She even says that though every girl dreams of owning the most beautiful engagement ring, yet having one is not a prerequisite. She said, “Quinn kept on asking me to buy a ring but I always said to him that I don’t need a ring to get married”.
You Have To
Owning a ring was not that important to Ariel. All she wanted was to marry her best friend, her Quinn. It was always Quinn who wanted his to-be wife to adorn a ring and flaunt it everywhere just like all the other woman do. And to fulfill this desire of his, the duo decided to buy one but ended up facing embarrassment at the store.
The Cost- No Matter
Ariel’s post was a heart-filled one. It had a lot to talk about. She even explains Quinn’s side in it. She said that “Quinn thought I would not be happy with any ring and may even refuse to marry him just because the ring he buys wouldn’t cost enough”, But this wasn’t the case. To her, money was never a concern.
Her Response
Ariel told the woman at the store in a very polite manner that, “It isn’t the ring that matters, it is the love that goes into buying one that is.” What made the staff member prompt those words is not known, but all one can say was that the woman was not aware that the couple was buying that one as an engagement ring.
