Again the trick is natural using two household items. To check whether the soil is acidic, make a solution with 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of water and then add 1/2 cup of your soil. If soil fizzes it means it is acidic. It can be good for acid-loving plants. To check the alkaline nature of the soil, test 1/2 cup of soil with 1/2 cup of vinegar. If bubbles are formed, the soil is alkaline in nature and if the soil is neutral it would not react to any solution.
