You might be thinking how can a coffee filter be used in gardening? Simple, as coffee filters are used for filtering coffee, in the same way, they prevents soil to fall out of your flower pots. Just line up one coffee filter at bottom of your pot and then fill soil in it.Throwing away a used plastic milk jug can harm your environment. It should always be recycled or used for some other purpose. So, why not use it for watering your plants? Combine 1 cup of cooking oil from a bottle with 1 tablespoon of dish soap and blend every pint of water with 4 teaspoons of oil. Then spray it on your plants which will protect them from spider mites, aphids, and other pests.

Ensure Quality

Before planting your seeds, you should ensure its quality! You should always plant fresh seeds which grow into a healthy plant. This trick will provide you with a test to check whether seeds can be planted or not. You can also check your older seeds with it. Drop your seeds in a glass of water and if seed sinks to the bottom it’s good and if it is floating, it is of no use.

The foremost step while gardening should be to check the quality of the soil. Again the trick is natural using two household items. To check whether the soil is acidic, make a solution with 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of water and then add 1/2 cup of your soil. If soil fizzes it means it is acidic. It can be good for acid-loving plants. To check the alkaline nature of the soil, test 1/2 cup of soil with 1/2 cup of vinegar. If bubbles are formed, the soil is alkaline in nature and if the soil is neutral it would not react to any solution.

Fresh and healthy

If you love sweet tomatoes and want fresh tomatoes at your home then grow and enjoy them in your garden by using this simple trick. You can plant a tomato plant and add a little amount of baking soda to the soil. It will help to reduce the acidity level of soil and make the tomatoes sweeter.

Colorful flower plants are the real show stoppers in a garden. They require small planters and buying many of them can be expensive. Here is a way to use toilet paper roll as a planter by cutting out its flap and making into a little box. This will be a cheap and biodegradable planter for your plant.
