She’s Alive

Connie didn’t have to wait long for an answer; her newly-found cousin promptly replied, “Oh, that’s my aunt, and oh, by the way, she is still alive.” She could not believe those words because all these years, she could not find her but finally out of nowhere she was able to track down her mother. Her mission was accomplished.

I’m Your Mother

Connie’s cousin asked her to write a letter to the mother of Connie, jotting down her contact information. After a short span of wait, Connie got to receive a call and when she picked it up, a trembling voice answered from the other side of the phone, “I think I’m your mother.”

Filling In Gaps

For the next three hours, they both stayed tuned to the phones. Bridging the gap of 70 years was not that easy. They both laughed and cried together. With no hesitation, they both continued talking over the call and both showed their desire of meeting each other.

Fixed Meeting

It was long after the call ended when Connie told her kids that she wanted to meet her mother. To surprise their mother, her kids booked the ticket for Richmond, Virginia, where Connie’s mother used to live. It was the earliest flight on which Connie had to board.

88 Years Old

Genevieve who was now 88-years-old and living in an assisted living center told her daughter she would be using a walker. Nothing could stop her from meeting her unseen birth child. She was as excited as she was back then during her birth. Now, she could fulfill her dream of wrapping her child in her arms.

Apparitions

Connie reached her mother’s house. As she walked in the doors, without any confusion, she immediately spotted her mother. She said, “It was like looking in a mirror”. She inherited the sharp features just like her mothers. They walked to each other and tightly hugged making the scenario cryfest.
