SakshiPierce Was An Exception!
Pierce Brosnan was given excessive leeway, unlike the previous Bonds. He was allowed to do several things that were not on the to-do list of earlier Bonds. For Pierce, the perk of working in the Bond movie was that he was permitted to work in other movies as well. It was not the case with the former Bond actors. But he was prohibited from donning a tuxedo in other films and his personal life as they technically were the stuff of James Bond. Despite the prohibition, he went on to wear a tuxedo in the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces. It happened only a year after his first Bond film. The movie rose him to greater fame but it would be wrong to say that it was all his luck, his exclusive looks played an equally important part.
Working With Roman Polanski
In 2010, Pierce raked controversy for doing a movie The Ghost, written by director Roman Polanski co-starring Ewan McGregor. The film is based on the novel of The Ghost by Robert Harris. Polanski is highly defamed for sexually assaulting a thirteen-year-old girl in late 190s at the place of Jack Nicholson and fleeing the U.S. only to avert any prosecution. The life of Roman Polanski has been subjected to several tragedies. This infamous director has survived Holocaust (the genocide of Europen Jews by Nazis) while being a small child. Another big tragedy struck him when he got his 26-year-old wife Sharon Marie Tate Polanski and his unborn child stabbed to death in 1969. The murder was carried out by the horrible multiple murder committing group called Mansion House. Polanski can’t fly back to America and is residing in France.
Diet Coke To The Rescue!
Though nothing is clear as to why he constantly turned down the offer of Bond. It is believed, it was because of his close friendship with Dalton. The Bond producers embroiled in several issues with the distribution rights when the Diet Coke depicted Pierce as a “dashing bond-like character” and many television shows also portrayed him as Bond. All these messes stalled and eventually canceled the beginning of Dalton’s third Bond film. After the whole issue got settled, Dalton opted out of the movie and it was then that the role finally got in the hand of Pierce Brosnan. In 1994 he signed his first Bond film.
All White Bond?
Pierce made news when he stated that the next Bond should be a white only. His response came to the rumor that the upcoming Bond would be a black and perhaps a female actress. Some rumor carried the name of British actor Idris Elba as the next replacement to Pierce’s Bond. He did not comment on the rumored selection of the same but said that he believes that the next Bond will also be a white like the predecessors. He also maintained that black actors would equally be able to pull the job off. He said, “there’s no reason why you cannot have a black James Bond.” He also ruled out the possibility of having a female Bond by saying “he’s all male.” Though the comment can’t be called racist, it gives all of us a food for thought.
Honors From Other Countries
Pierce Brosnan the famous actor and previous James bond received an honor from the queen of England in 2003. Pierce Brosnan was conferred upon with the title of an honorary officer in the order of the British empire. Here it is important to make note of the fact that this honor is only reserved for the British citizen, so he was bestowed upon the owner without full OBE honors. The queen honored him because of his “outstanding contribution to the British film industry”. Pierce Brosnan also holds the citizenship of Ireland where he was born and in 2004, he got the citizenship of US where he has been residing for a very long time. He has both citizenships. Isn’t it amazing that a boy who comes from very humble family catapults to such fame that he is bestowed with two citizenships?
Environmental Work
Keely and Pierce Brosnan both take an immense interest in the environment and actively participates in the protection of that. They volunteered for many organization like natural resources defense counsel and the international fund for animal welfare.Painting is one of the hobbies of Brosnan and him sale his paintings whatever fund he got use it for charity.Recently on Instagram, he talks about saving of whales which shows his love for the environment.
