Nancy McKeon – Then
After just one season, many of the characters were cut from the show. This was such a drastic change. New actors such as Nancy McKeon ended up being a permanent addition on the show. McKeon became one of the most beloved characters as Jo. Ever since her character was introduced, Jo and Blair had a rivalry. Her character was someone many youngsters could relate to.

Nancy McKeon after having a successful acting job as Jo on ‘The Facts of Life’, had a decent career in the future as well. She was away from the spotlight for about 10 years but came back to star in notable roles like Inspector Jinny Exstead in the hit show ‘The Division’. She appeared in a total 88 episodes. She was shortlisted to play the role of Monica Geller in the sitcom ‘Friends’ but did not get it.
Ryan Cassidy – Then
Being raised in a famous family can prove to be a challenge sometimes. Ryan Cassidy as we all know is the youngest in the Cassidy clan. In 1985, he took on the role of Kevin Metcalf and like his other family members, he has innate star quality, good looks, and charm. He and Blair really did have a genuine spark. Despite the being there for just five episodes, fans loved him very much.

Even though his appearance on ‘The Facts of Life’ gained him a lot of fans, Cassidy felt like filming was definitely not for him. After deciding that he wanted to change his career path, he began working in the art departments with a variety of studios. Cassidy ended up working on the set of ‘JAG’, ‘The King of Queens’, ‘The Secret World of Alex Mack’, ‘Muppets Tonight’ and ‘Good Luck Charlie’.
Juliette Lewis – Then
A famous celeb to star on ‘The Facts of Life’ that came only on the final season was Hollywood star, Juliette Lewis. She was cast as Terry Rankin on the show. The original plan was to create a spinoff show, which would be about Lewis’ character’s life. After filming just 2 seasons, the producers decided it was not going to work. She stayed on the show and her career as we all know did not suffer.

Even though Lewis did not get to have her own show, she only needed one life-changing role to set her career. In 1991, she was chosen by Martin Scorsese to play Danielle Bowden in the thriller ‘Cape Fear’. And because of Lewis’ stellar performance, she received both Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. She went on to appear on TV movies such as ‘My Louisiana Sky’ and ‘Hysterical Blindness’.
