Felice Schachter – Then
This next character was there on the show for a split second. You would be quite surprised to know that Felice Schachter has a short role on Season One of ”The Facts of Life”. She took on the role of a little girl named Nancy. Just like Molly Ringwald and John Lawlor’s characters, she joined season one only to give way to the rest of the show cast. This was only the beginning of Schachter’s career.
Felice Schachter – Now
Schachter after being cut from ”The Facts of Life” took a turn for the better. She starred with Scott Baio in the 1981 coming-of-age comedy ”Zapped!” Schachter became famous after this role and had been out of the spotlight for a while only to come back again. Schachter came back to the world of television but this time she was behind the camera for shows like ”Law and Order: SVU”.
Julie Piekarski – Then
Julie Piekarski was already quite famous before joining the cast of ”The Facts of Life”’. She had previously appeared on Disney’s ”The New Mickey Mouse Club”. Her star quality was not unnoticed as the little Mouseketeer was soon chosen to be Sue Ann Weaver. However, Piekarski did not make it past Season One. Later she reprised her role occasionally.
Julie Piekarski – Now
Even though Julie Piekarski was out of the show, she bounced back in the spotlight stronger. For the next years that followed, she starred in shows like ”Three’s Company”, ”Quincy M.E.”, ”The Best of Time’s”, and ABC ”Afterschool Specials”. She took on the job at KPLR (St. Louis) as a reporter and got hitched by 1986. These days, Julie Piekarski dedicates her time to raising her kids.
Sherrie Austin – Then
Sherrie Austin only joined the show during its final season. This did not stop the Australian actress from cementing a significant role as Pippa McKenna. Pippa is an exchange student all the way from Koolunga Academy in Australia. Fans were always excited to see her and McKenzie Astin’s Andy together. In the long run, the show was just the beginning of her blossoming career.
Sherrie Austin – Now
After ‘The Facts of Life’ wrapped up, Sherrie Austin decided it was time to focus on her other interest. She decided to spend time on her music. Since she had opened for Johnny Cash at 14 years of age, Austin always dreamt of being a musician. She and her band Colorhaus performed during the 90s, and a song of theirs even featured on ”Baywatch”. Her song “Streets of Heaven” came out in 2003 peaking at the Top 20 in the US Country chart.
